The First Cast Radio Show is proud to be the #1 fishing related radio show in the beautiful Canadian Maritimes. Our shows air locally every Saturday and Sunday morning on both CKBW 98.1 FM, 94.5 FM and 93.1 FM as well as CJHK 100.7 FM, from the beginning of April through to the end of September each season. They also stream live on www.ckbw.ca and www.cjhk.ca plus they air year round on WRVO - Reno Viola Outdoors Network, your online outdoors sports network. Of course you can listen to our shows here on this website any time you wish to after they air. Show times for CKBW, all stations, is  approximately 7:20 AM each Saturday and 9:15 AM each Sunday morning following the weather; on CJHK 100.7 FM they air approximately 6:20 AM each Saturday and 8:15 AM each Sunday morning. At the First Cast we cover our local fisheries, news, tournaments and all things fishing along the South Shore. We also feature select interviews with fishery officials, NGO's, members of our local clubs covering all species, various guests sharing information to help us fish better and safer plus weekly profiles of our youth anglers along the South Shore.

Show #1 – Mark is joined by friend John Wiles and they discuss the upcoming 2017 radio show season as well as a few reminders for getting yourself ready for the start of the fishing season.

Show #2 – Mark interviews Ben Woo, President of the Berkley B1. The discussion centers around the newly expanded 2017 Berkley B1 tour and all of the upcoming B1 tournaments.


Show #3 – Mark interviews Kevin and Arthur from Gow’s Home Hardware. They discuss the store setup for 2017, the new Sunday hours and how they’re ready for the new season. The Mercury Marine youth profile features Nathan Mosher.

 

Show #4 – Mark is joined again by Kevin and Arthur from Gow’s Home Hardware. They share a lot of laughter and fun times talking about family, fishing and the local fisheries. The Mercury Marine youth profile features Jacob Mosher.

 
Show #5 Mark is joined by friend John Wiles of CKBW and they discuss some general fishing topics, update some planned 2017 coverages and raise a few regulation questions.

Show #11 has Mark being joined by Carroll Randall and they talk about the many varied fishing opportunities in the LaHave River, chain pickerel, smallmouth bass and trout. Show #12 features Mark chatting with Carroll Randall and John Wiles, they talk about getting people involved in fishing competitions whether it be for the first time or a seasoned competitor. Show #23 – Mark has John Wiles in the studio and they discuss fall trout fishing, bass fishing and some tips on packing your gear away for the off season.
 

Show #24, Mark is joined by friend John Wiles of CKBW and they discuss some fall fishing, perhaps the best time of the year to get out for some last minute trout and bass fishing.
 

Show #25 wraps up the 2017 season of The First Cast, Mark and John revisit some of the past topics and wrap up the final show for the year.
