That's similar to what I use for ATV competitions, but we go for a less "top loaded" formula. More like 40% rather than 50% for first, and that extra 10% would get divided between 2nd and 3rd.

Just read the payout of the tournie for east coast. Not meant as anything mean or whatever, but it seems a bit top heavy for first place. First gets $3000 and if I get second I get little more than my entry fee. Just a suggestion that maybe in the future the top five prizes can be juggled a bit to spread out the prizes a bit more. This is just my personnel feelings and not meant to upset or diminish all the hard work done to get this tounament put on. I will be there this weekend trying to do my best as will all the other teams.

I personally would rather see first place higher.. When second place comes in sometimes and wins lunker as well then they take home more money then first place.. Have seen it twice this month alone lol..

Lunker is a side bet and has nothing to do with the overall prizing in my opinion, the last place team could catch it for all I care because if it is the biggest fish of the day then hurrah for them and pay them the pool.
Although I know what you are referring to I believe that the comments here are based on a 50% payout for 1st and an 8% for second.

Exactly.. I am just speaking of my experiences.. And 50 to 8 is a jump but everyone is there for first not second.. Thts the point of a big tournament..

When i talked to Kevin about how he wanted it structured it seemed like he was going with the same or similar format to the NB tournaments that have the big payouts.
