AGM 2015 - SSBM
« on: February 24, 2015, 10:15:30 PM »
A copy of the notice sent to SSBM members. All are welcome to come and if you wish, you can also join SSBM at the AGM.

Evening folks, sending out a more detailed plan for our upcoming AGM. Our goal is to put on a great AGM, to encourage a  much larger turnout and re-establish it as our main meeting of the year from which the rest of the year flows.

Before I get to the AGM data, please take a  moment and refresh the tournament dates for SSBM in2015.

** June 13th
** July 5th
** July 19th
** Aug 16th
** Sept 13th

Ok, letís all chip in folks and have a great AGM, see if we canít fill the place to have some fun and prepare for the upcoming season. Listed below are some ideas I took to the executive and we collectively discussed and tweaked as a group. The plan, as we see it, leaves us with a very fun and active sounding AGM plan.

Location is the Italy Cross Fire Hall.

Date is March 29th.

Official doors open at 11 AM.

We are asking members to bring some food and treats, we want to return to a potluck meal that everyone attending can enjoy. We are willing to help organize this meal by tracking what you think you may be bringing. By this we mean, to help set it up so that everyone does not bring a box of donuts, we can help assemble a list of proposed items. So for example, if you want to buy rolls from Weagleís, or a meat tray from Sobeys or you are making baked beans, if you care to let us know, we can assure that there is some variety. This is not a mandated request but if you wish to do it this way, by all means, let us know and we will help. You can contact Carroll Randall, our social director and inform him of what you propose to bring. Phone for Carroll is 902-543-3372 or email Dacara@eastlink.ca We have planned a meal break for 12 PM.

A very exciting proposal for this yearís AGM is a tackle swap. We will be setting up tables in the main hall and ask that you bring your excess gear, to sell and or trade with others there. So, if you have a box full of baits that you do not use, bring them in and perhaps someone attending will be interested in buying them. This will be a flea market type setup and we think it can be a really fun time for all there to chat, mingle and maybe grab some new to them gear. Now, please note that the tables will be FREE to you this year BUT you must call or email us and let us know if you require a table. This is needed so that we have enough tables set up and ready to go. Again, let Carroll know your intentions for the tables.

In conjunction with the tackle swap, we are looking at having some displays there as well. For example, I will have an electronics display myself and we are checking to see if any of our sponsors may want to have a display table there too. Our local tackle shops will also be invited and perhaps they too will have displays / tackle there. If you have a sponsor and product connection that you wish to display, please let us know so that we can add you to the list.

We are currently working on a door prize or two for the meeting, hopefully at least one good prize to give away to attending folks such as a rod/reel combo or sonar etc.

We will have special guests as well on hand. NSDAF staff will be there in the afternoon. They will not do a formal presentation but they will address the membership and answer any questions you may have per our bass fishery. We will have one or more seminar type displays as well and we are working on those as we speak. As we finalize who can attend and what they can present, we will inform you about that.

Then we will wrap this all up with our business meeting.

Hopefully, you can see that we have some great plans and if you fine folks participate , this can be a great event. So a quick schedule based on this email would be as follows:

Doors open at 11 AM, tackle swap begins and continues through meal
Meal set for 12 PM
Seminars and helpful tips set to start at 1 PM
Business meeting hopefully set to start at 2 PM, maybe 230 PM.
Wrap up and out the door by 4 PM we hope.

Please mark this down on your calendar and do everything you can to attend. We will start advertising this on the bass forums soon and hope to attract lots of people. Tell your friends because members or not, maybe they will want to see the tackle swap and or presentations. If you come across previous members, let them know about this and letís see if we canít get a few of them back out to share in the event that day.

Obviously, we are giving this a big push to try and make the AGM a must see meeting, help us make it succeed. If you have any questions, please send them along.

Tight lines,
Mark

Any feedback from SSBM members or folks wishing to attend this event? Just looking for an idea of who will be there etc.

Thanks.
