Premiere Bass Fishing Series Slated for the East Coast

Since the announcement of the first ever B1 OPENS event set for Fredericton, New Brunswick in October of next year, the response from Maritime bass anglers has been nothing short of overwhelming. So much so, that the B1 will be launching an all new, 4-event series, designed uniquely for the Atlantic Canadian market. For the first time in over 20 years, the B1 East Coast Series will offer an inter-provincial circuit that will incorporate venues in both New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, culminating in the crowning of a true East Coast Team of the Year Championship.

The series kicks off in early spring with a 2-day season opener during the pre-spawn period on the upper Saint John River also known as the Mactaquac Head Pond. Round 2 brings the series to Nova Scotia and Shubenacadie Grand Lake just outside of Halifax in mid-June.  For Round 3, City of Fredericton Government will play host on the Lower Saint John River towards the end of July. Finally, the Series finale will conclude on the Beechwood Head Pond on the Saint John River in Perth-Andover with a 2-day competition.

“There is no question that there is an incredible demand for premiere bass fishing competitions such as ours in the Maritimes” states Ben Woo, B1 President. “We have spent the last 3 years researching the market, forging new relationships with local anglers and municipalities and we strongly believe that Atlantic Canadian bass anglers are now ready to B the Ones.”

The new B1 ECS will feature the B1’s popular Garmin Livestream Weigh-Ins at all events along with a Live Leaderboard to keep track of the weights as they happen. Stunning photography courtesy of B1 photographers and even some Live On-Water footage to boot. For all intents and purposes, the ECS will be a scaled down version of the B1 OPENS tweaked into a format that is both sustainable and allows for growth. Maritime anglers will now have a platform by which they can promote themselves, their sponsors and the sport of bass fishing at a higher level.

Registration for the new East Coast Series is now open and available online only at www.FishB1.com. Early Bird registration will be in effect until March 1st, 2019. Teams that register early for the entire series will benefit from a 1st pool blast-off position draw. All events are opens and no memberships are required.
