Host of  The First Cast Radio Show, Mark Weare, has been fishing the waters of Nova Scotia and other parts of North America since 1973. A true passion for all species of fish Mark has often been quoted as saying "If it has fins and lives in the water, I love to catch it!"

Mark spends a lot of personal time volunteering within our fisheries, whether it be for various fishing clubs, government bodies or his strong dedication towards conservation of all fish species and habitat, fishing is always a part of Mark's goals.

A passion that Mark pursues with full vigor is the need and desire to get youth fishing. A great deal of monies, time, dedication and planning go into the very many avenues that Mark pursues continuously to ensure that our youth have the opportunity to enjoy the great sport of fishing.
